Permanent Resident Card and Form I-9

July 21, 2015

A permanent resident card that indicates “signature waived” is an acceptable document for Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification, so long as it is unexpired and reasonably appears to be genuine and to relate to the person presenting it. The USCIS began waiving signature on some green cards in February of 2015 and has recently issued confirmation of the validity of these unsigned cards.
