EB-5 China Green Cards Unavailable Until October 1
August 26, 2014The annual quota for the EB-5 China investor visa green card category has been reached and the new quota does not become effective until October 1, 2014. Though the USCIS will continue to accept green card applications based on approved EB-5 petitions, it will postpone the processing of those applications until October 1, 2014. In contrast, petitions for the EB-5 category are not affected and will continue processing. Based on the high demand for this category, the State Department expects green card backlogs of several years or more beginning in May or June of 2015.
